The State of Geneva is committed to making its site official” www.ge.ch ” accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of the technology used or the skills of the users. We are actively working to continuously improve the accessibility and usability of our website.

The State of Geneva complies with the rules for the accessibility of web content (WCAG) level AA, recommended by theWorld Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative. These rules aim to make websites easily accessible. Level AA rules aim to make the content:

  1. perceptible : text alternatives for images, subtitles for audio and video content, adaptation of presentation and contrasts.
  2. workable : keyboard usage, color contrasts, time limits for entries, attack prevention and navigability.
  3. understandable : legibility, predictability and input aids.
  4. robust : compatibility with assistive technologies.

In addition to the WCAG, the State of Geneva adheres to ech-0059 standards version 3.0, which builds on WCAG 2.1 and includes additional tools to promote digital accessibility. These internationally recognized standards facilitate the communication of persons with disabilities with public authorities and guarantee equal access to information and digital services.

While we strive to comply with recognized guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to ensure full compliance in all parts of the website. Compliance with accessibility rules is subject to regular monitoring and continuous adjustments to ensure digital accessibility compliance.
